As part of this colleague spotlight series, we caught up with Ethan McGhin, MI Manager, to find out about how he has been supported and progressed during his career so far with Procure Smart.
How would you describe your role at Procure Smart?
Ethan: “My role is to provide data insights to enable management to make informed decisions. As part of the operations division, we also support the sales team with the right data to reach their customers; provide competitive pricing; and deliver excellent service. It is a fast-paced environment which keeps me busy and I enjoy the daily challenges.”
How are you finding your career with Procure Smart?
Ethan: “Procure Smart is in a period of growth having only been operating for around 18 months and is a place where you can develop with the company. It’s an exciting time to be here and put your own stamp on the role you play in helping the company expand. I feel challenged in my role and I am happy with my progression so far. Innovation is widely encouraged and I enjoy that about the company.”
How have you progressed within Procure Smart so far?
Ethan: “Everyday is a day to learn new skills at Procure Smart. But formally I have recently completed a data analytics qualification as part of my personal development plan. I have also become more involved in strategic planning with the support of my line manager, giving my role an extra dimension. I’m working on lots of different projects as the company continues to experiment and innovative with tech and service. This helps me keep my skills and knowledge fresh.”
What do you enjoy about working here?
Ethan: “I enjoy that everyday is varied and also seeing the results of my job. It is a very cooperative environment and everyone is a team player and thankful for the each other’s contribution. We solve problems together and challenges which arise in the sector as well as the business.
There is a good atmosphere in the office and it is very sociable; everyone is really friendly. We also get to socialise outside of work at our quarterly staff socials, usually at a new local venue.
I’m really looking forward to releasing many of our exciting plans and seeing how they play out for the benefit of our customers.”
