Procure Smart is preparing for growth by moving into new headquarters at Doxford International Business Park.
After spending two years establishing the business at Sunderland Software Centre, Procure Smart leadership determined that a larger office was required to facilitate the business plan.
The 2024 strategic report showed the business increased net revenue by 219% and headcount by 124%, providing confidence in the foundations created in Sunderland city centre.
The business’ Sunderland operation completed a seamless move to the newly refitted Doxford Works building on Friday 2nd May 2025 and began trading on Tuesday 6th May.
Building owner North East Commercial is close to filling the building, formerly occupied by Barclays, after Procure Smart took the entire 5,000 square foot western wing of the top floor.
Craig Shields, Managing Director of Procure Smart, said: “It’s a hugely exciting time for everyone in our Sunderland office, but also for our full team, because this move represents the beginning of growth in the business.
“We have other exciting developments taking place this month, which will improve our customer offer and provide the platform to take our business to the next level.

“We had hoped to stay in the city centre, where we have enjoyed working amongst the exciting improvements taking place there. Ultimately, we found the deal available at Doxford Works to be too good to decline for a top-spec office with excellent facilities.
“Our colleagues are thrilled with their new working environment and we are excited to hit the ground running in our new surroundings this month.
“We are looking to aggressively increase headcount at Sunderland, Manchester and hybrid working environments. There are more announcements coming this month in this area.”
Andy Rothwell, Owner and Landlord for North East Commercial Ltd, said: “We have welcomed our third tenant into The Doxford Works this year and are delighted that Procure Smart have believed our building is suitable for their long-term growth.
“From the first viewing to becoming an operational office, Craig and the team have been first class. I look forward to building a long-term future with Procure Smart.”
