The Christmas wishes of over 50 children will be granted this year thanks to Sunderland-based charity Love, Amelia and local business Procure Smart’s generous team.
Not only does Love, Amelia support families with the essentials they need for their children throughout the year, but at Christmas, they work closely with partners to identify families in need of additional support to deliver Christmas magic.
Warren Danson, Business Solutions Manager and member of the Charity Committee at Procure Smart, reached out to Vicky at Love, Amelia, following a conversation with colleagues Barry and Danny, who support Love, Amelia and know how much an initiative like this could help.
Between them, they arranged for 50 gift tags, each with a wish list from a local child in need, to be distributed throughout the Procure Smart staff to get gifting. One month later, all 50 tags have been fulfilled, and the team went above and beyond with more than 20 extra gifts! They couldn’t be happier to be Secret Santas to children this Christmas.
Warren said: “It fills my heart with joy to be able to do this, but it is awful that it is still needed in this day and age. We see people buying a single item that could pay a person’s rent for a whole year and don’t think twice about it. It’s lovely to be able to give back and be reminded of the importance, and Love, Amelia provide the perfect way to do this!”
Lauren Ayres, Accounts Manager and member of the Charity Committee at Procure Smart, had similar sentiments: “Love, Amelia are supporting families across the North East to help make sure the magic of Christmas reaches as many homes as possible. Knowing that the Procure Smart team will wake up on Christmas morning with their own families, thinking of the children whose day will be brighter because of the gifts we’ve provided together, is the most wholesome and meaningful gift of all.”
