Firstly we kicked off 2024 by introducing a rebrand, which included a new website, giving us a fresh new look for ready for another year of expansion and progress.
Helping more customers save
We have experienced great growth over the course of 2024. We recently announced we have helped over 1000 businesses save on their utility bills to end the year. We’ve supported wide range of customers across the UK, from start-ups and charitable organisations to established businesses, helping them save money and boost bottom lines during tough times.
During this growth, we have also formed successful partnerships throughout the year, with more in the pipeline to be announced. Our latest with Fairway Foodservice was formed to work with their group members to reduce their operating costs and guide them on their paths to net zero. We have already saved one member approximately £350,000 on operating costs; our biggest customer saving this year.
Providing a service
From a customer experience perspective, we have continued to build on this and improve our customer intelligence, receiving excellent customer feedback about our services and team members. We have now reached 5 stars on Google reviews and our Trustpilot page, as well as obtaining a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 85 from direct customer interviews. In 2025, we will build further, to understand our customers’ satisfaction levels throughout the length of their contract, not just at the start.
Switching online
Building on our dedication to creating services our customers want, our digital division has developed disruptive technology to allow businesses to take more control of their energy contracts by switching online. The launch of Switch Savvi took place in November to provide businesses with a ‘comparison-site solution’ for procuring business utilities such as gas and electricity. Providing quotes in seconds, our tool was devised to make procuring utilities more transparent and help businesses streamline and improve the procurement process without the need for hours on the phone.
Sporting Round-up
As well as energy, we’re also passionate sports fans at Procure Smart and believe that playing sport provides many life skills as well as health benefits for people of all ages. We have continued our support of Spennymoor Town FC. Currently 12th in the National League North, promotion looks possible in 2025 and we’re excited to support the club towards this goal.
Procure Smart also sponsors Peterlee and District Sunday League adults’ team Eppleton FC. The team play out of Eppleton Cricket Club and currently sit second in the PDSL Premier League.
We have invested in supporting local youth teams such as Whitburn and Cleadon JFC who now have 22 teams and are expanding, taking ownership of their own ground in 2025. On the boxing front, we also sponsored Sunderland boxer Joe Miller as he continues to build a winning start to his career. He has just celebrated his fourth pro win earlier in November.
We work in partnership with many of these clubs to generate value for our business and use it to reinvest into sporting sponsorships and projects.
Supporting the City
We work closely with Sunderland BID as their utilities partner to advise businesses on a whole range of services including utilities, telecoms and card payment solutions. We have built some successful partnerships this year and even hit the headlines for our work with Seaglass Café in helping them re-open after they had their supply cut off.
For further information on how BID levy payers and affiliates can benefit from our services, simply fill out the form below this blog and we will be in touch.
We are also a proud member of the Foundation of Light Corporate Member network, providing vital support to their work across the region. Our CSR strategy focuses on the needs of the local area with our latest being a Christmas Sunderland Food bank donation from all members of our staff with £120 worth of food items and £310 of cash donated. That equals more than 220 meals for users of the Sunderland and County Durham service.
We’re expanding!
This year has focused on moving from start-up to scale-up and we have expanded our operation to 37 employees, with exciting plans to increase headcount further early in 2025.
We are pleased to announce an official expansion with a second office in a major UK city. Look out for more announcements on this in 2025.
If anyone is interested in a new role, they should take a look at the careers section of our website and check out the job descriptions.
Lastly, we wish all of our customers and partners a Merry Christmas. We are now closed for the festive period and will re-open on Monday 6th January.
